I did not think that I would have time to post before Christmas, so if you’re reading this there has obviously been some kind of Christmas miracle
I have been running around like a chicken with no head these past couple days. Starting with Monday.
Ah Monday.
I got off work early to get some shopping/baking/laundry/cleaning/etc. done and walked in the door to find vomit all over our house. Bright green doggie vomit to be exact. Cuba had somehow managed to jump up onto the counter and grab a bag of green chocolate candy discs from a tied bag and eat the entire package. And then proceeded to throw it aaaalll up. We immediately took him to the vet hospital where they checked out his vitals and made sure he was all right. We took him home about 1 1/2 hours later and spend the next 3 hours cleaning puke off of the leather couches and floors. Magical.
I took Tuesday off work and spent the majority of the day monitoring him to make sure that he was feeling better and now the little monster is fine and is totally back to himself. Another Christmas miracle
I finally got all my Christmas shopping done!! Well like 99.2% done. I have one more to pick up today and then I’m finito!! I totally love giving Christmas gifts. And birthday gifts. Any kind of gift giving is fine with me really.
And speaking of giving, I have my December donation finished! I chose to donate 4 Kuranda cat beds to the Saskatoon Street Cat Rescue. These beds are soo cool!
From their website:
Thousands of dogs in animal shelters across the country sleep on cold, wet, concrete floors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cats in cages have little alternatives to sleeping in their litter pans.
Kuranda Cat Beds provides the same orthopedic comfort as our dog bed. It allows cats the opportunity to jump up to another level increasing their amount of floor space. The PVC frame and solid vinyl fabric is non porous and can be easily wiped clean.
- The raised bed provides a comfortable and cozy perch.
- Increases valuable floor space
- Offers a cozy nook for a shy cat
- High strength, lightweight frames crafted from furniture-grade poly-resin.
- Thick 40oz vinyl fabric
- Easy to clean and guaranteed to stand up to repeated cleaning.
- One year warranty
Another cool thing about their website is that there is thousands of shelters to choose from all over North America. And if a shelter in your city/town isn’t on there, you can email them and ask it to be added!
If you aren’t particularly fond of cats they have dog beds, too!!

On the food scoop I have been OVERLOADING with Christmas sweets. Like ridic. And I don’t even really like sweets all that much. Give me a box of crackers with some dip aaany day over a cookie or cake. I have been trying to make up for it by drinking some green smoothies. I’m pretty sure they cancel each other out
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 3/4 of a banana
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- handful of ice cubes
I have been trying to eat as many salads as I can, too. Gotta get those 20 in!!

We are having a salad night tonight at work and the caprese salad above is what I’m taking.
Sorry for another post about salads but besides shortbread cookies, cheesecake pops, marshmallow squares and fudge this is all I’ve been eating
And I only have 7 more salads to go! Which might be taken care of tonight!
Tonight is my last night shift and then Andrew and I leave for my parent’s house tomorrow morning at around 8 am. I am not planning on sleeping but because Andrew is driving I might nap in the car. We are having a very untraditional Christmas Eve supper at my parent’s house tomorrow and I am soo excited!!
I hope you have the most wonderful holiday and for those of you traveling, please drive/fly/bike safe!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
PAIJE ♥
