Sup dolls!

Hope you had a lovely Wednesday!

I am definitely beginning to feel the stress of moving!

My to do list is growing by the second.

Oh well, right? Ten days from now and I will be on holidays πŸ™‚

Breakfast was…..

wait for it….

a smoothie!!

Duh.

1 cup of almond milk

2 rings of pineapple

1 frozen peach

1 scoop of vanilla isoflex

1 tsp bee pollen

Right after breaky I got straight to work on making some nut butters. I made Ashley’s salt kissed pecan butter and then a hazelnut chocolate kind with vanilla and chia seeds.

I packed for the next 3 hours. Organized, cleaned and packed. Fun stuff.

I took a break for lunch and made Gina’s crepes!!

The verdict?

THEY ARE INSANE.

I big red heart them to pieces.

I couldn’t decide on sweet or savory cuz I love both, so I had both πŸ˜‰

I rolled one up with raspberry jam and the salt kissed pecan butter

and these two had sauteed zucchini, green pepper, shallots and broccoli with a teeny bit of pesto.

Laughing Cow sauce of 2 wedges, 1/4 cup almond milk, salt, pepper and tons of green onions

Gina is a for real food genius. These are ridiculously amazing.

Soooo easy and sooo versatile.

I also had a small bowl of leftover potato soup on the side.

While I was eating I did a little bit of lurkwork and came across this post by Lisa. I love her blog and this post was fantastic. So open and honest. It inspired me to give you a little random fun fact about me.

For supper tonight Andrew’s grandparent’s took us out to celebrate Andrew’s birthday. His actual birthday isn’t until the 3rd of August but because we will be gone they decided to take us out tonight.

We went to The Cave and I had a 1/2 order of greek salad and bruschetta.

Imagine them because I didn’t snap any photos!

I did manage to take a picture of his sweeet grandparents though πŸ™‚

They are just amazing.

When we got home I was still kind of hungry so I had another slice of bruschetta and some steamed broccoli and carrots with a blob of mustard for dipping.

I had lots of repeat eats for my night shifts so try not to fall asleep while you read this.

breakfast #1

1/3 cup oats, 1/3 of each almond milk and water, frozen blueberries, chia seeds and topped with almond butter, raspberry jam and molasses.

b-fast burrito with 2 egg whiles, swiss chard, mushrooms, onions, red pepper, dill. On the bottom of the wrap was a laughing cow and hot sauce. Grapes on the side. Ballin.

Yes breakfast #3 looks identical to #2. I NEVER EVER have liked breakfast burritos but woke up with a craving for one 2 days in a row. Weird weird weird.

Lunch #1 was epic.

chopped cup kale, steamed broccoli, 1/2 cup brown rice and cheesy kale chip sauce massaged into the mess. The sauce is 1 cup of soaked cashews, 1 red pepper, 1/2 cup cilantro, juice from 1 lemon, 1/4 cup nutritional yeast, garlic clove, salt and pepper in a food processor. wwwwwwweeeeeeeee!

Its amazing. TRUST ME.

Dinner #1

salad with cod, cucumbers, peppers, and rice parm on top. OF COURSE the hummy dressing made an appearance.
I also had a slice of The Big 16 bread with some Earth Balance on the side.

Ha this was the only picture I took of my pancakes! I was in such a rush to leave for work I guess I must of forgot to take an after picture πŸ™‚

fried cabbage with vinegar, chili fish, kale salad, Big 16 bread with Earth Balance.

Snacks

I did have lots of oranges, apples, bananas, grapes, etc., I did not take pictures of them. I’m sure you know what they look like πŸ˜‰

I did, however, take pictures of my mango, an individual cupcake (!!!) and banana softserve!!

I stuffed mine with raspberry jam and used almond butter as the icing. YUM.

I have lots of plans for days off so stay tuned. There just might be a small city blogger meet up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’m baaaack!!

Wow. Four whole days without posting felt like FOREVER!!

Sometimes life work just gets in the way of the fun things but I’ll make sure that never happens again πŸ™‚

There has been lots of repeat eats in the last four days.

strawberry smooothie a la andrew with strawberries, banana, freshly squeezed orange juice, and yogurt

eaten outside this afternoon with my favorite puppy

massaged kale and romaine caesar salad with nutritional yeast, red peppers, sprouts and caesar dressing x2

another salad with spinach, grilled veggies, baked cod with chili powder, paprika and lime juice, topped with Hummy Mustard Dressing . x2

I am so obsessed with this dressing. I want to put it on everything. Oh wait, I do πŸ™‚

I modify it a bit and put in a squirt of stoneground mustard, tiny squirt of jalapeno mustard, spoonful of hummus and water to thin.

SOOOOO GOOOOD.

Dinners

baked fish, steamed swiss chard, steamed carrots and brussel sprouts, brown rice with Braggs, goat chedda and two spinach and artichoke dip cups

another repeat salad with grilled veggies, fish, mustard dressing and a piece of Mack’s Flax with Earth Balance

tonight’s dinner was the best ever. As of late anyways.

Spinach, romaine, coleslaw, spoonful of greek salad, shredded carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, black olives, nuts, feta, chives, edamame bean salad, chickpeas, and probably a million other things.

MEOW. This socks my rocks off.

I left it dressingless so I could add more of the mustard/hummus when we got home.

And had a 1/2 a baked yam with baked beans with lots of hot sauce and pepper.

There are also some missing pasta dishes in there too. Not sure where those pictures went haha.

So yesterday would have been my grandpa’s 87th birthday.

This is the first birthday since he’s passed away and I thought about him all day.

It was soo beautiful outside yesterday and I just know he would have had a great day πŸ™‚

Ah I miss him so much. SO MUCH. He was the youngest 86 year old! He still flew his plane and climbed trees right up until he got sick. He loved showing us everything on his farm and taking us for walks through the trails. We were so lucky πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Getting excited for the weekend?

I go back to work tomorrow so this post will be short and sweet so I can get to bed eeeearly πŸ™‚

Breakfast was 1/3 oats, 1/3 almond milk, 1/3 water, chia seeds, raisons, almond butter and a chopped up granny smith apple.

The apple was crunchy and yummy.

I took Beasley for another loong walk today and I think this was the first day all week the sun came out.

Finally!!

When I got back I had to rush to my nail appointment so I didn’t get to have lunch! Oops.

Oh well. I now have highlighter yellow nails πŸ™‚

I didn’t get home until almost 5 and I was staaarving!!

Super late lunch of half an apple and cashew butter and

I made the same egg salad from yesterday but put it on top of spinach instead of a wrap.

This is obvi a new fave.

Supper supper supper was a mish mash of everything I wanted.

Grilled cod with lime juice, paprika and chili powder.

Broccolini.

Grilled caesar salad with fat free caesar, rice parmesan cheese, goat chedda and breadcrumbs.

And baked spinach and artichoke dip cups.

This was our first time ever grilled romaine hearts and WOW. Delicious. And so easy. (Says Andrew, he did the bbqing πŸ˜‰ )

And the spinach and artichoke cups are uber low fat. Probably 60 cals ish per piece. I could probably eat a thousand of them.

They are tasteh!

I just finished eating my snack with a little piggy on my shoulder.

In my fish bowl went 1 1/2 pieces of carroat cake bar, strawberries and yogurt mixed with vanilla spice protein powder.

Hola monsters! Happy Friday!! We woke up to SNOW this morning and winds blowing 94 km/hr! I thought I was going to blow away walking from my car to the door! NUTZO!! Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I had such an awesome day with my mom and was totally tuckered out after she left. I wish she could of stayed longer though! xx

Backpeddle to yesterday. I got up sSsSsSuper early to do our recycling. We have curbside recycling and it comes every two weeks. And we always have baaaags of plastic. Totally crazy how much you can actually recycle. πŸ™‚
My mom helped me and it took us about 45 minutes to get it all organized and out. I was soo hungry so I made two egg whites with a laughing cow and a sliced pear.

After breakfast my mom and I headed out to Costco. LOOK WHAT I GOT FOR EASTER!!!!!

Yes oh em gee my mind is blown. I am just elated. It matches the Kitchenaid food processor they gave me for Christmas!!! I have wanted a Kitchenaid mixer for A LONG time now and weeeooow!! Thanks mom and dad!!!! The only problem with it is that I don’t know what to cook in it first πŸ™‚ LOL

My mom also spoiled me with a new pan

And tons of groceries. I am SO LUCKY. We even got a big jar of almond butter for $5.00!! Unheard of haha.

Okay. Totally stop what you’re doing now and focus on what I’m going to show you. THIS IS A FOOD REVOLUTION. For me anyways πŸ˜‰ Probably just a new-to-me food but I am totally and utterly in love.

AMAZING!! Get used to seeing these around here oh, probably everyday! (if not at every meal lol). Moving on……

After Costco and another stop, we were hungry hungry hippos. We wanted something quick and close. Enter Chili’s Restaurant. I had never been to a Chili’s and had never had any desire to go to one but it was so close! LAZY DRIVING FAIL. I ordered the grilled salmon caesar salad with a side of seasonal veggies mixed in and the dressing on the side. Riiiight. Their idea of seasonal veggies are shredded carrots and raw broccoli. E for effort. The salmon wasn’t half bad. My mom didn’t mind the sandwich she got ( the cajun chicken) but we both felt that there was nothing special about our meals. I just prefer to eat at home πŸ™‚

After mi madre left last night Andrew and I decided to use the new pasta we got. I called it the planes, trains and automobiles pasta. I am such a sucker for pasta shapes.

I did not use enough water and the pasta turned out NAAASTY. Like a sticky gluteny mess. grosss. I had to leave the kitchen and let Andrew finish supper. And it did a great job! He fried some leeks, mushrooms and red pepper, mixed it with pesto and new shell pasta and then baked it in the oven with some goat chedder.

Added a salad to mix with on the side with tomatoes and cucumbers. I barely made it past supper. I was exhausted! More than exhausted. Kaput. All the way until 4:45am when my alarm went off.

breakfast was a weird mess but it worked. 1/3 cup oatmeal, 2/3 cup water, chia seeds, sliced pear, raisins, cashew butter, hemp hearts, honey and new jam. Not just any new jam. This new jam.

It’s niiiiice. Especially on oatmeal.

I packed a pretty simple lunch for work today. New wrap with mustard, hummus, mushrooms, peppers, spinach and sprouts. I forgot to take a pic before it was all wrapped up. oops!

2 carrots and a handful of green beans, steamed

For extra snackies I brought Annie’s chocolate bunnies and organic corn.

I ate every single last crumb. Plus a handful of trail mix. Plus a crap ton of water. 7 Siggs full!! Heck yes.

I had a craving for mushroom gravy so bad tonight. Do you ever have cravings so bad that you just HAVE to give in?? I improvised and made a new version. With laughing cow of course haha, mushrooms, almond milk, chives, pepper, pink himalayan salt and xanthan gum.

I also had a piece of cod with chili powder and paprika, baked on parchment paper for 20 min and steamed brussel sprouts with mango salsa ( from Kristi) and stoneground mustard for dipping. It was out of this world. Seriously. I’m already thinking about how I can have it again tomorrow.

Any ideas of what I should make in my new mixer??? I have been thinking about chocolate chip oatmeal cookies or something along those lines. I’ll take any suggestions though!!!

Time for bed! I work two night shifts and then I’m on days off!!! Love it. I hope to try out some new recipes soon!

Sup muffins! Today was like the fastest day ever! I can’t believe that it’s already 11:00 pm! Craziness.

I woke up a starvin marvin this morning. Good thing I made overnight oats last night. Pheeeew. I added macadamia nut butter to switch it up a bit, raspberries, aaaand granola for the crunch.

I couldn’t even eat it all! Weird.

I cleaned cleaned cleaned this morning and took Beasley for a quick walk. When I came back I tried my hand at scones. I’ve never made them before but figured they couldn’t be too hard! And I was correct. SCONE WIN. I made whole wheat maple date scones and they were awesome possum!

Meee ow. I used my pizza stone and it worked perfectly! Minus the extra bit of flour creeping on top of them.

As soon as the scones were done I had to run out of the house to meet this pretty girl for lunch

Can you believe this was in 2008?? Haha obviously before I found Invisalign. Damn snaggle.

I brought her a scone and some asian parteh mix to snack on at work.

Anywoo we went to Jakes on 21st for some lunch and and some chatting. I MISSED HER!! I had The Mediterranean panini with a side of fruit. Of course it was fabulouso. And I was a good girl and took a picture. ( I will learn to be a good food blogger one day) πŸ˜‰

After lunch I came home and had lots of bonding with this little man

Before I knew it it was suppa time! Andrew wasn’t eating with me so I decided to make clean-out-the-fridge-veggie-burgers. Yes that is what they are actually called. They can have anything in them and they are (almost) always great.

Start with some veggies

mix in some black beans, carrots, pumpkin seeds, an egg, a handful of oatmeal, worchestshire sauce, cheese, etc.

use your new mister (or if you didn’t just go to Home Sense for some retail therapy) put about a tsp of olive oil in a pan and cook the burgers!

Leftover bean salad from last night, steamed broccolini and asparagus with lemon juice and goat cheese, flax bunny with my burga topped with sprouts, organic ketchup and relish. I LOOOVE RELISH! Any kind. For reals.

I probably went back and had another burger πŸ™‚

Dessert was some serious sconeage. I warmed one up in the oven, cut it in half, topped it with some Stoneyfield Yo Baby Vanilla Hug yogurt mixed with xanthan gum to make it fluffy, and raspberries.

It was sooo goood but I just couldn’t finish it all. Oh wells.

Two AWESOME things about tomorrow:

1. It is Waffle Wednesday!! And I have waffles. Ooh yeah.
2. MY MOM IS COMING!!! Na na na na na na na.

Heeey! Happy Easter! Hope you had a great day! I got off work this morning to Andrew leaving to work overtime so I had a loooong sleep in an empty house. It was so quiet and I was so tired that I slept until almost 3:30pm! Crazy. But it felt so damn good.

I took some very unappetizing food to work last night, but I know you won’t judge πŸ˜‰ Breakfast/lunch/whatever was some unpictured overnight oats. Lunch/dinner/whatever was leftova pasta, leftover lasagna inards with goat chedda. Obvi I heart leftovers. β™₯ This didn’t even make it out of the house.

I cooked 3 egg whites with some dill, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions and slathered a laughing cow wedge on it.

Also in my lunch was a salad, a piece of toast with cashew butter, apple chips, a banana and some organic applesauce. I ATE EVERYTHING. Plus some. I was lurking around the leftover appies from the night before. Ugh. Do you find that after eating lots of crappy food the next day you’re starving? That seems to always happen to me. My body CRAVES fruits and veggies after appetizer nights lol.

After my super duper sleep in today, I totally skipped breakfast and lunch and went straight for supper at about 5:30. I was craving something really yummy so I baked some baby potatoes, steamed some broccolini and made a cheesy lemon dill sauce to go on top. YUUUM. (Don’t mind the unyummy picture of the sauce)

The cheesy lemon dill sauce was just 2 laughing cow wedges, approx 2 tbsp of almond milk, a squeeze of lemon, lots of fresh dill and lots of pepper.

I went in to work tonight for some overtime and brought a new to me Starbucks latte. I had a grande Awake tea latte with nonfat milk. SOOO GOOD. I usually get the Earl Grey latte but this is sooo good. I think I might have to get one tomorrow!

The shift I was working with tonight had an appetizer night. Haha I know. How did I get so lucky?! I swear works actually gets done while were there. Their appie night was so much better than ours though! They had chocolate crepes with whipped cream and raspberry sauce, veggie samosas, crackers with cream cheese and jalapeno jelly, jalapeno poppers, caesar salad, a taco dip and probably way more stuff that I can’t remember. They were so nice to let me eat with them! LOVE ‘A’ PLATOON. I’m probably going to go in and work more overtime with them tomorrow πŸ™‚

So that was my night/day. Things might be a little screwed up with my eating because of the night shifts and overtime but hopefully it will figure itself out before my mom gets here on Wednesday! See you tomorrow!!

Today was uber productive. I took Bizzle for a walk this morning, spent about an hour cleaning up his nasty winter poop in the backyard and cleaning out the flower beds, cleaned all the cupboards, organized a few, did all my laundry and made a raw chili wrap (it took soo long). That might not seem like a lot but I felt like I got a lot done. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same.

EATS today are as follows:

meal #1

Overnight oats of 1/3 cup oats, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/3 cup almond milk, container of itty bitty apricot Yo Baby yogurt. Topped with granola, strawberries and cashew butter.

meal #2

I found this recipe in the Raw Food Real World cookbook by Matthew Kenney and Sarma Melngailis. SO GREAT. This is my version. Hope you like it as much as we did!

Blue Sunset

1 cup fresh pineapple
3/4 of a small banana
1/2 cup strawberries
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk
1 tsp agave
1/2 cup blueberries

In a blender, puree all ingredients except blueberries until smooth. Pour out about half of the mixture into serving glasses, filling each glass about halfway. Add the blueberries to the remaining shake in the blender and blend until smooth. Gently pout the remaining blueberry shake over the pineapple-strawberry shake.

Meal #3

I found a new attachment on my mandolin and until I get my spiralizer, this will have to do πŸ™‚ I mixed some zucchini with leftover red thai curry paste, a veggie burger and some mixed greens. I had a wrap with laughing cow on the side.

Look what we got yesterday!!

Young thai coconuts! YAY!! So many raw recipes are made with these and I couldn’t wait to crack into them. Well, turns out that one of them was rotten! BOOO! The flesh was a nasty purple color and the water was pinky. YUCK.

Here is the good meat

I mixed this with about 1/4 cup of water, 1 tbsp of chili powder, 1 tbsp psyllium husk and 1/4 of a tomato in my food processor until it started to conceal. I then poured it onto a Teflex sheet and thew it in my dehydrator for about 5 hrs.

I’ll be making a wrap with this tomorrow for lunch πŸ™‚

Meal #4

I marinated some veggies in some italian dressing and some cuban seasoning for kebabs

sliced some potatoes with my new handheld mandolin, added some goat chedda and chives and baked for about 20 min at 400F.

and doused my fish with lemon juice and pepper.

After supper, Andrew had a request for chocolate mousse with tofu. My friend Jaime made it one night when we were over there for supper so after finding a recipe and running to the store, we came up with this:

Hi! How is everyone?? Hopefully you’re having a really good weekend. Mine has been going just fine. Did you celebrate Earth Hour tonight?? We sure did! We shut all of our lights off, took Beasley for a walk (his 2nd one today πŸ˜‰ ) and then came home, lit some candles and shared the So Delicious coconut milk vanilla bean icecream I bought the other day.

This is my third year participating and it just warms my lame little heart how many people do this. The Sydney Opera House and the Great Pyramids of Giza even shut off their lights!

What kind of things do you do to help the earth? We do small things everyday like use cold water to wash our clothes, use reusable grocery bags and sandwich bags, unplugging appliances when we aren’t using them, and recycling as much as possible! And in the summer we compost πŸ™‚

Backtracking to yesterday.

B-fast

Three egg whites, goat cheese, 1/4 of an avocado, chopped tomato, dill and an apple.

We had a popcorn night at work (cuz my new supervisor is so cool) and she brought her air popper, I brought some popcorn and another girl brought a bunch of popcorn seasonings. I OVERLOADED myself with delicious popcorn. It was crazy.

I only took one picture of what I took for lunch last night. I didn’t think you needed to see another bowl of potato salad or another wrap so I left them out. Andrew made a quesadilla and left me half to take to work. It was curry ish and awesome.

Work was busy busy busy last night!! Ugh. Sometimes I wish crime would take a vacay LOL. But then I guess I wouldn’t have a job, right? πŸ˜‰

B-fast today was oatmeal with chia, raisons, blackberries, honey, quinoa maple cereal and almond milk. Weird, I know. I had a craving for all of those things and they tasted decee together.

I knew we were having pizza at Andrew’s brother’s house tonight so I had a small meal so I wouldn’t go overboard once I got there. My brother dropped off some soup he made – butternut squash, pumpkin, carrots, cloves and curry – and DAMN! Sooo yummy!! I had it with a smear of goat cheese and whole wheat wrap.

I still managed to have 2 1/2 pieces of veggie pizza πŸ™‚

Hi guys!! Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a shweeet day! I left early from work to hang out with Andy and have literally effed the dog all day. And now I am too tired to post the recipes that I promised I would yesterday 😦 So sorry monsters!

Brrrreakfast this morning was…..SURPRISE!! oatmeal oatmeal oatmeal. boooring paije! But today I added Stoneyfield apple loves blackberry yogurt and blackberries.

I packed a pretty simple lunch today of leftovers, oranges, homemade trail mix, salad and a granola bar. See below:

I spent the afternoon reading some sweet snags from my brother this weekend

and lurking some pretty awesome blogs πŸ™‚ After all that fun, I made supper! So exciting. Not that I had much to do as I had already made the orzo & chickpea salad last night. All I had to do was steam a few carrots, and broccolini and toast some Squirrley bread. Oooh la la.

Soo good. I love simple dinners like this πŸ™‚

Oh! I almost forgot. I got new protein powder today…and had a protein muffin for my snackie with cashew butter and raspberry jammers.

Okay lovelies, I gotsta go. It’s sleepy time tea and off to bed!! Another work day tomorrow and tomorrow I WILL NOT BE EATING OATS for breakfast. I creeped a few delicious recipes today and I can’t wait until tomorrow! I will also be posting the recipes that I was supposed to post today πŸ™‚ Night all!
